Sermon Series: The Book of Daniel
Culture is making some dramatic shifts all around us. Sometimes as Christians we feel like we are living in a foreign world. There is a good reason for that. The Bible says that we are foreigners and aliens in this world. But this is not the first time that God’s people have been in foreign territory. The Old Testament of Daniel records the history of the Jewish people being in a foreign land and a hostile culture. In Daniel, we learn that when culture shifts, we need to know who we are, reaffirm our convictions, and respond with love. We can do this by learning to live in the tension between truth and grace. Truth is God’s standard, and without it we lose our way. Grace is God’s favor, and without it we can seem judgmental and mean. As we begin to hold God’s truth high and freely give the grace we freely received, we can journey together to make a difference. Join us as we begin a study of Daniel in our Sunday services beginning April 7th.

The heart of Flourish is to see women come fully alive in who God created them to be. Our prayer is that this time together creates a space for women to gather, be inspired & equipped to Flourish in their journey with God. Flourish is not about where you have been or even where you currently are - Flourish is all about a journey forward to coming alive to all that God has for you. This isn't a place for perfect women, this is a place for real women - women who are doing their best each day to live out the life God has gifted them.

Join us on a mission trip this fall to Honduras! There will be a variety of ministry and outreach opportunities to participate in, and the trip is open to students and adults. This trip is Saturday, September 28 - Saturday, October 5 (during Woodford County's Fall Break). Space is limited and the approximate cost is $1900. In case you missed the first meeting, we will be hosting another informational meeting on April 21 at 12:30pm in the Fellowship Hall where we will discuss some of the details of the trip and answer questions that you may have. The deadline to register for the trip and commit the deposit is April 30. For more information, please contact Randy or Eric.
Journey Groups
New Journey Groups are forming soon to help you grow in your relationship with the Lord and other members of Journey Church.
1. "New Testament Bible Study", Sunday mornings, 11:00am, Fellowship Hall, beginning April 28. This group will be reading through the New Testament to gain a better understanding of Scripture, learn how to live in relationship with God, live at peace, and renew our minds. 2. "Fundamentals of the Faith", Wednesday evenings, 6:15pm, Fellowship Hall, beginning May 1. This group will use a workbook to go through some basic doctrines of our faith - like the Bible, the attributes of God, the work of the Holy Spirit, discerning God's will for our lives, spiritual gifts, and more. This group will be helpful for both new Christians and seasoned believers looking to be refreshed on the truths of our faith. For more information, please contact Eric Rice at 859-806-1844.

The deacons at Journey Church seek to serve the needs of our community in the name of Jesus and are here to help you as a member of Journey Church. If you find yourself in need, it’s our desire to come alongside you and provide the support you need to get through whatever you’re struggling with. We can’t always assist everyone with what they’re going through, but we can only help those people who reach out and let us know they need it! If you have a need for a ride to church, or want to have someone come share communion with you if you can’t get out of the house the deacons are here to help however they can. If you are struggling to with a physical or financial need please reach out and let us know. It’s our hope that we could help you through a time of difficulty or struggle and give you the tools you need to see a brighter tomorrow.
